Jaipur
is a historical city that will enchant you with its enchanting views,
historical heritage and incomparable beauty. The city still preserves much of
its ancient royal past and offers tourists some of the most enjoyable
experiences. Let us know some of the best places
to visit in Jaipur:
City
palace
One of
the most famous historical landmarks in Jaipur is the City Palace. It is world
famous for its exquisite architectural style, impressive artifacts, and
untouched charm from the bygone royal era. The architecture of the place is a
beautiful mix of Mughal, Rajput and European styles. Most of the palace
exhibits a variety of artifacts that were once used by the kings and queens of
Jaipur. There are costumes, weapons, ships and other artifacts that offer a
noxious journey through the good times. The palace has 4 different entrance
gates and each one is associated with a specific season of India. The intricate
and detailed design gives these doors an added beauty.
Hawa
mahal
Hawa
Mahal is located near the City Palace. This beautiful historical monument
remembers a crown from afar. According to folklore, the Hawa Mahal was
specially designed to resemble Lord Krishna's crown. The main purpose of the
Hawa Mahal was to allow royal women to enjoy the street scenes of the city. In
fact, due to royal traditions, royal ladies were kept hidden from public view.
Therefore, they had to follow various restrictions to avoid being seen by the
public. This palace had 900 exquisitely carved lattices called jharokhas that allowed
queens to enjoy street scenes without being seen by the public. There are up to
900 grids in the building. The jharokhas, or grills, also provided excellent
ventilation, and the palace remained cool enough even during the city's
scorching summers. That is why it was called Hawa Mahal, the Palace of the
Wind. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh.
Jantar
Mantar
Jantar
Mantar is a planetary observatory in Jaipur built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh.
The king was very interested in astrology and built this planetary observatory
to observe the planets in a more scientific way and expand the knowledge of it.
The place has many astronomical instruments. Brass and stone are the two main
materials used in the construction of these tools. These instruments help to
know the exact astronomical positions of the different celestial bodies. The
place is also famous for the largest sundial in the world, Samrat Yantra. This
UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in 1738.
Albert
hall
Nestled
in the lush greenery of the Ram Niwas Garden, the cornerstone of Albert Hall
was laid in 1876 by Albert Edward, the Prince of Wales. Its well-carved domes
and arches are very attractive to look at. The museum has a wide variety of
artifacts, including musical instruments, clothing, rugs, wooden artifacts, and
tribal collections. There are special sections for henna artwork that are
extraordinarily refreshing.
Amer
Fort was built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh I and the palace is a
unique masterpiece of yesteryear. It is built with Rajputana architecture and
offers a glimpse into the glory and splendor of the royal era. The fort has
many sections that will catch your eye. Diwan-e-Aam is where the king listened
to the concerns of the public, while Diwan-I-Khaas was reserved for royal
guests. Tale Niwas is a palace famous for processing sandalwood and magnificent
ivory. Sheesh Mahal is another example of grandeur and enchants the eyes with
its exquisite mirrors and art glasses. Ganesh Pol is known for his charming latticework
and elegantly designed frescoes. Since the fort is spacious and spread over a
huge area, it would be best to arrive early in the morning.
